We have created a practical implementation plan to ensure we have the most positive impact possible on our planet and the communities in which we host events.
Introducing ‘green nudges’
Promoting sustainability through “green nudges” is a great way to raise awareness and encourage small but impactful changes to inspire positive behaviour change among attendees, in turn contributing to a more eco-conscious future.
Empowering and upskilling
We are working with isla, a non-profit organisation founded by event professionals and industry leaders, to continuously develop our education of sustainability in events. We are also using their TRACE platform to measure and minimise carbon at our live, hybrid and virtual events.
Taking the next step
EcoVadis is the world’s biggest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. In 2022, we underwent our first full EcoVadis assessment of our environment, labour and human rights, and ethics practices and procedures and they awarded us a Bronze medal! Our ambition was to improve upon this by adopting more robust policies, practices and management systems across the three pillars: Environment, Social, Governance.
The implementation of our Dynamic Sustainability Strategy has created a robust, focused and structured approach which has enabled us to improve our EcoVadis rating for 2023, as well as improving our overall impact.
It begins at home
Net Zero Now’s carbon calculator helps us measure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our internal operations, including office and operational activities.
Below you can see the report from Net Zero Now on our internal carbon emissions as well as our commitments which we’ll be working with partners to achieve.
Crucially, this report allows us to use the year ending March 2024 as a baseline for carbon calculations going forward. From this we will track our progress and gain deeper insight into where we excel and where we need to invest more time, thought and effort in the years following, better equipping us to meet our goals.
A message from our managing director
The world was a very different place when we opened our doors in 1997. Climate change was just an occasional headline, and most of us were unaware of the mounting crisis we are now facing. Times have changed; we became aware how, through our own actions, accountability, communications and ability to inspire our clients and other stakeholders, we have a great potential to have a positive impact in all the steps we take to plan and deliver events.
